Privacy policy
Last updated 28 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information Data Australia ("we", "us") collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We're a consultancy based in Perth, Western Australia, and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you contact us, through the form on this site or by email, we receive the details you choose to share: your name, email address, company name, and anything you tell us about your project.
That's it. You can browse this site without creating an account or giving us any information.
What we don't collect
This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn't run tracking scripts. We don't buy visitor data, and we don't sell anyone's data, yours included.
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps standard server logs, which include things like IP addresses, to run and protect the site.
How we use your information
We use the details you send us to:
- reply to your enquiry and set up calls;
- scope and quote your project;
- deliver work you've engaged us for, and keep normal business records.
We'll only send you marketing if you've asked for it, and anything we send will include a working unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers we use to run the business, such as email and website hosting, and where the law requires it. Some of those providers store data outside Australia; where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled safely.
Files you share during a project
If you engage us and share business files as part of a project, we treat them as confidential, use them only for that project, and delete or return them when the project ends or whenever you ask.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and project records only as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, tax and business records). After that, we delete them.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, please tell us first, and we'll look into it and reply promptly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top of the page.
